Leif Hultdin. Leif Hultdin got in touch from Sweden with these intriguing pics. They were mostly taken in the early 60's, when the car was built. Leif bought the car a few years ago and got in touch with the original builder, who was glad to see his car again. Got some cool pics you'd like to share? mail me. |
Ok, were talking early 60's here in Sweden, That ain't a Ford in the background, its a Volvo. Our focus of attention is on that white Deuce. Let's see how it came about.
Nice pair of channelled roadsters. Cool veedub panel too.
It's the summer of 58 and Roland Larsson found himself in posession of a fairly straight deuce roadster. So what did he do?
Thats right, he cut it up of course. If you're channelling a car that floors gotta go.
Now lets see, about 8 inches should do it...car has sprouted steelies, pump in head V8 stays.
None of your poofy mig welders here. Holes? gas 'em up. Cycle guards need a bit of tlc.
Chassis appears to be capped by a broad flanged sub-rail for the body to sit on. I imagine the trimmed floor was re-installed on top of the flanges. Looks like a quality build going on here.
Youthful builder seems happy with his efforts.
Dont wind that mag too fast, Mate or it'll give you a right pisser!
Rear end of completed car features a bit of custom moulding, 54 Ford taillights.. Safety conscious Swedes opting for the big reflector look, no doubt a legal requirement.
This pic taken recently, new engine with vintage hop up goodies added by Leif. Note Eddie meyer 21 stud pump in head finned alloy heads. Nice.
Keeping the car company in the first shots is this way cool cycle fendered a-bone. Again note big reflectors and this one also has big mud flaps. both cars feature comprehensive instrumentation.
Both cars feature sports car buckets, No doubt european influences holding sway. A has no trim, deuce looks trimmed out, plus has late model deep dish steering wheel. A body looks mint. Thanks for sending these over, Leif, quite an eye-opener. ...Mart. |
