Paso '02, Part 1.
Every now and then things fall together well. I was to be in the USA on a working trip, and found the end of my trip to coincide with the beginning of Paso weekend. I hooked up with Sean from San Jose and bummed a ride there, Camera in hand.
So, in no particular order other than the way they fell onto my scanner, check out what caught my eye in Paso Robles May '02.

Lots of nice Riviera's at Paso. This was one of the more subtle ones.

Deeply channelled A has overhead V8 for power.

Mine Hosts for the weekend, The Strangers. Sam, Hillbilly, Sean and Scotty. Thanks for playing Adopt-a-Limey fellas.
While not all the Stranger's cars feature wild paint jobs, these three certainly do. Sam's 64 Olds Cutlass, Sean's 57 Ford, and Scotty's 60 Cad.

30/31 A coupe on 32 rails. Nicely turned out.

36 or so Ford truck features suicide front end.

Lots of nice Lowrider style Chebbies at the show. This 58 is stylin in the cruise.
Nose had dropped a few feet in altitude by the time it reached me.

Straight stock Caddy carried custom master Bill Hines.

Seems if you had a steel 32 at Paso, there was only one way to prove it.

Coupla roadsters for you, an A and a T. Who can resist a bit of  T and A?.
Get all dewy eyed every time I see a 34 like this since I sold mine.
Oh yeah, forgot the customary breakdown on the way there. Sam's olds developed carb trouble. Took a while to diagnose the problem.
Couple of fellas in trad rods stopped to offer their assistance.

Eyecatching building, eyecatching cars.
Cool A pickup put me in mind of Eric Rickman's truck with that Hot Rod magazine logo on there.
