Hey Mart.....Here is my rod, a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe. I have
been working on it for 4-1/2 years now and will have it on the road in
spring 2002. I chopped the top 4" and channeled it 4"and the chassis has
been lengthened 2-1/2" to bring the wheelbase up to 106". Motor is a small
block chevy with a 4-barrel backed up by a 4-speed saginaw and a Ford 8"
rearend. There are 165 louvers punched in the decklid and another 27 punched
in the visor. The wheels I already have but not on yet are American
Racing Torque Thrust lls and the tires will be T/A Radials, 285/75/15s
on the back and 175/65/14s on the front, that should give it a bad stance.
Dash is a steel '32 style with Mooneyes Gauges and I have a bench seat.
Car is going to be Ferrari Fly Yellow like the firewall. Thanks for the
oportunity to tell you about car and great website, keep up the good work.
Mike
Mart,
Great site. My hat's off to you on your "old rusty" project.
That car is cool as hell! This is the best site I've seen for true rods.
looking forward to updates on "old rusty".
Later, APL
p.s. I've got pics from start (initial disassembly) to interior,
which will
be done late next week.
Thanks for the kind words, APL, those tudors are one of my faves,
regret not buying one that came up for sale over here a couple of years
ago. Mart.
Hi Mart,
Just a couple of updated shots of my 32 sedan for you to put
onto your site.
Cheers ;

Jim Ullman sent this great pic. I really liked the look of this
stormin pick-em up, I asked Jim for more info, and he wrote:
Hi Mart, I guess that to the uninitiated, the truck is pretty
memorable. I have been working on and around it for so many years, it just
seems "right" that it is always there in the shop. The truck is all steel.
Wieghs 3300 lbs. Has a 460 Ford engine @.030 bore. Probe pistons, H-beam
rods, Lunati cam, Wiend tunnel ram w/two 660 Holleys. Soon to be replaced
with some 850 dbl pumpers. The trans is a C6 with all owner built mod's.
Clay, who owns the truck, just got through designing and installing a trans
brake for the C6. The rear end is a '59 pickup 9inch, w/4.56 gears on a
spool. We do not run the truck as much as we would like due to jobs and
family stuff. But we do have fun, and the truck is very popular wherever,
and whenever it is being run. Glad you liked it. Thanks for letting us
get it on your website. Sincerely, Jim Ullman & Clay Allen
Oh, yeah, did Jim happen to mention that this old hauler pulls
10.60's @ 124mph in the quarter? I think it's great. Mart.
Mart, heres a pic of my sedan. My husbands building it in the
front garden- he got the chassis 3 months ago !

From Ian Caldwell, in Scotland.
Mart, Both the trucks were mine, however the 40 is sold to a
neighbour ( it
wasn't hard to convert him ) and is now fitted with a blown
rover. Its not yet
complete but should be in his possession by mid October.
I bought the 35 from John Reid at the start of the year (another
reason I
had to sell the 40).
Always liked the pre war trucks, looks like a couple of good projects
there, Ian.
Hi Mart,
My Name's Richard Miller and I'm in Lubbock Texas. I sent
you the picture of the flat head dragster you have posted in gallery #34
awhile back, it is a Childs and Alberts short wheelbase digger, it has
Evans heads and Stromberg 97's with Scot's carb. tops on em. I took the
picture in PT's Diner in Clovis, New Mexico about 2 years ago, The
restaurant has sense closed down, and the car is in temporary storage.
I'm attaching a picture of myself in the dragster and also a few other
pictures of my 55 T-bird, my 54 Studebaker project and a few pictures of
another friends cars. The Stude is a long term project, it's been
chopped abt. 3½", '57 Hawk fins, and '65 Lincoln cont. tailllights
frenched in, I've got a Caddy 472 to go in it. The 55 Nomad, '32 Tudor
and '27 T project belong to my good friend Terry Haun, the T will be built
Rat Rod style and will be running a '65 Riviara 425 nailhead .
Thanks for all the great pictures on your web site,
Richard
Thanks for the pics, Richard, that digger looks a lot bigger the
right way up.
Nice work on the Stude, got any bigger pics?
Mart.
Hey Mart, That was me in Dave Moyer's deuce with the flatmotor.
Following photo is me and my 29 A as I was caught cleaning.
By the way Dave is dgasbag, the same guy with the orange flatmotored roadster
pick up. Attached is my father's 30 A. Tattersfield intake with twin 81s.
Mallory ignition, Later Ford brakes with finned Buick drums. Airplane shocks
and Reversed eye Posies springs front and rear get her down in the weeds.
Ron Hofaker
Sorry about losing the note that came with the old pics, Ron. Spose
"down in the weeds" is a relative term! Mart.
Here's a picture of Sam Strube's Roach Rod. I saw this
car when I visited Sam in Early Sept, it's looking real good, top notch
workmanship. Thanks for the wires, Sam.
Mart, here is a picture of my stude, after this was taken we
put the black and white tuck and roll in it and put the rest of the trim
on. It has a supercharged 289 Studebaker V8 and it just took the
1200 mile trip from my home in Nevada to Lubbock Texas where I am now going
to college. I'll send a pic of my 55 chevy gasser with the 500 cadillac
when I take some pictures of it. Finally, it is awsome to see a website
that is not covered in billet. Keep up the good work!
Jake Zachry.
Thats a great looking wagon, Jake thanks for keeping on trying
to send it. Mart.
---oooOOOooo---
Thanks to all the contributers for the pics on this page....Mart.
