Hi Mart!
Well, I finally got some more pics back of my beast taken in
my driveway. Unfortunately as well as being a dummy on the more finer
aspects of cyberspace; this time I'm the Homer Simpson of photography.
Lots of shade in all three pics I took! Doh! I've included
the "best" of the three. Thanks again for your help. Maybe
when my car is finished I can enroll in computer and photography
courses! Thanks again and best regards, Dave
Well, Dave, I see what you mean. Mart.
Hiya MART & Co.,
VERY Cool site.
I wanted to send some pics your way of my old truck for
your "reader's rides" section, or whatever. I did everything but install
the windshield and paint the pin-stripes.
It's a '62 Chevy C10, short-step, 350/350, headers, duals,
all steel body, in black primer with Dick Bizzaro's wild-ass flame pinstriping
head to tail. I had to get it striped to get people to stop asking me "what
color are you painting it?" NO billet of any description. The 60's vintage
slotted mags were swapped for and polished up with a great deal of effort.
Pulled the torsion bar front-end and put in a coil spring type from a '65
C10 with sway bar and power steering too. I used 36 chrome kitchen drawer
pulls for grill teeth, '50 re-pop Poncho tail-lights, white pleated 'hyde
seat cover, black loop-pyle rug, Moon silver flake wheel, hula-chick resides
up on the dashboard.
It's mostly an old beater I threw together late last winter
that I could cruise this year, but I didn't get out with it until mid summer.
It hasn't cooled off since I put it on the road. It's geared to low for
long hauls, but we push it anyways.
Keep the primered side up and the greasy side down.

MART & co.? It's a one-man band here, Bob, thats why the updates
are a bit few and far between these days. Mart.
Mart, Here are a couple of pics of the 36 Ford Cabriolet that
I just built: 350/400, 8" Ford Rear, 40 chevy headlights, 40 LaSalle grille,
40 Ford Dash, Carson top, white R&P interior, 36 DeSoto Bumpers, Solids,
WWW tires, and Skirts. "WHEELS"
Wheels also sent a couple of snaps of his 49 Merc.
Dan Carl sent me a couple of pics of his trucks. So that's a black
wheel 50 then, eh, Dan?
Hello Mart:
Thought I'd share a few pictures of my newest edition. Me and
the Misses flew to Dallas and drove her back (about 11 hour drive). I've
managed to change a few things to my liking. First thing was to get the
Billet Wheels off, and slapped on on old set of Steelies with wide whites
I had laying around. Next goes the Bucket Seats. I've got the original
bench seat from another 40, (Mohair an all). I'll give the old seat the
Mexican Blanket Treatment. She's all Ford running gear (that's odd) 289,C4
tranny, 8" Rear, Mustang II Front End. Just got back from the Nationals
in Louisville, she drove like a dream. There's a few little things I need
to dial in, but for the most part I'm very Pleased. Perhaps a Flame Job
this Winter, I'll keep you up-dated.
Cheers, Ed Martin.
Blimey, Ed, I wish all I had to do was dial in a few little things
on that beauty! Mart.
Hi Mart !
Your Ol Rusty is really shaping up and looking good. Now that
I saw you have an alternator instead of a gen I can crawl out of my hide
and show you how my very similar ride is looking at the moment. Actually
we have driven more than 1.000 kms test drivin with the co-pilot
in the picture ( my son ) This summer we had some really good sunny days
( that actually lasted trough my whole 4 weeks vacation ! ) so there was
no other option than hit the road and stop wrenchin. A set of new front
shocks (those chromed ones are pure shit...) , replaced starter and an
oil change and refills was all that kept it going. So I still have the
21 studder ( not rebuild ) and haven´t mounted the late Thickstun
( the same model ) that will be on the car
someday.

Thanks for the picture, Harri, great to see it out on the road.
I'd forgotten how similar our cars are. Needless to say, I think it looks
bitchin! Mart.
This is Jim Gustin's phantom Fordillac. Looks like a stocker till
he lifts the hood, then it looks like it's got a caddy motor, but its a
chevy with sneaky cad bits added for a bit of nostalgia.
---oooOOOooo---
Thanks to all the contributers for the pics on this page....Mart.
