Skip Readio dug up a couple of shots from 1966. Here's his 34 sedan,
with hemi. The engine came frrom a $25 '52 DeSoto. Car had been built a
couple of years when this picture was taken. Skip pointed out the tree,
saying "The big tree in the background was my garage. That's where
all the engines got pulled and installed."
The 33 Tudor belonged to his buddy, Gary Forish and sported a healthy
Olds motor.
'Nuther one from Jim Aust's collection. The Century Toppers of
Modesto preparing for a club run. Car being leant on is the Winfield Merc,
still unchopped at the time.
Nice shot courtesy of Ray Schuler. This is Ray's first car bought
at the tender age of 14.
Here's a shot I've had a while waiting for the right place to use
it.Here's Paul with his A in Waikiki in the sixties.

Damn, Dave!" I bought this neat little beater in 1962 from a Pearl Harbor
sailor from California. I think it was about $600. But on an Army
Private's income I really couldn't do it justice. Did get the body cleaned
up enough for a cheapo blue-mist paint job, but it never had a top or any
muscle pumped into it's cracklin' lil' flatmotor. Still... what memories
of rattlin' 'round the island in the little deathtrap. Oh, those young,
brave daze...
Aloha, Paul Maddox.
This was sent to me by Erwin Planting from Holland. It was sent
to him by John Goetting of the Old Farts car club, and shows John with
his car at a show in the fifties.
Rick Lowe from Australia asked if these shots are old enough for
my vintage pages. Who cares? They're cool. They're in.
Just fitted twin carbs.
Difference in the OZ version roofline very apparent in this profile
shot. I think Rick still owns this car.
Posted by Honest on the hamb, I understand this fantastic shot
is available as a poster. Just check out all the wild pipes on these rails.
The file name for this one says c-word, so I guess one of these
young fellas is Mike Siewert, veteran RRT'er.
I think I saved these when surfing one of Pete Garramones albums.
There are really great shots there, Pete submitted a page of his stuff
for my Vintage pages, Check em out.
Couple of great shots of TV Tommy Ivo's incredible dragster. Car
featured 4 injected Buick nailheads, two driving the back and two driving
the front.
Car used to smoke all 4 wheels the entire length of the track.
No Shit! A bit of a handfull I dare say.
James Drumm wrote and claimed these pics as his. Time
and place set as Visalia, CA, 1954. Thanks, James.
The Nut Shaker.
Now this I like. Nice location, Proud owners in their best duds;
Obviously early sixties. Great print colours. Gotta love that white under
the fenders. Note unusual headlight mounting for a 32. Thanks for the scan,
Lance.
Per Webb had a larger version of this great shot on his Kustoms
chat forum. It shows Sam Barris and was taken in 1949. Yup that Merc was
brand new when Sam whacked the top. Had the big version as my wallpaper
for a long time, thought it was a good candidate for my vintage miscellaneous
pages.
