Gentlemen, we have the technology, we can rebuild this....
A pu had 4 cyl power. same body as above, judging by the holes
in the cowl.
Same car minus the bed.
Time to upgrade the chassis underneath the A-pu. Motor mounts for
the flatty not yet finished. Spring in front axle probably 40 or later,
makes for short wheelbase. Note discarded parts lining the fence.
Coming together now, still plenty of tweaking to do. Fenders appear
to have been tried in place then left off.
Driving again with a fresh coat of primer, hubcaps, and the bed
fitted nice 'n low. There ain't a lot of leg room in a deep channelled
A.
Another roadster pickup, this time fully fendered at the drags.
35 Ford caused concern to the local fuzz due to the fitment of
a Chev motor.
Only slightly posed photo depicting a bit of impromptu drag racing.
Shoebox looks mean, Chev looks cool.
Another drag race, wonder who won?
Shoebox seems to have conked out in a critical place.
Ok, guys, was it wear a hat for a bet day?
Bill had this Kurtis Cad for a while. A rare beast indeed.
Three young fellas looking proud of their hot new flatty.
Hotrods and T-Birds, a subject close to my heart.
55 Bird was a cool motor even then.
Pickup has the lights now mounted up high, still missing the rad
shell.
Street scene showing a clean skirted Merc amongst stockers.
58 Vette pictured outside the Chev dealer when brand new. Cool
(or hot if you prefer) right off the showroom floor.
Slightly later, ('64 or so) this was undoubtedly the fastest car
to roll down the main street n Winfield!
---oooOOOooo---
Thanks, Bill, for letting me run these great pictures...Mart.
